Tenured Scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) since 2006 at the Institute of Public Policy and Public Goods (IPP). Researcher in science and innovation policy and economics, with special interest in patents, researchers' careers (in the public and private sector) and their impact on innovation, science-industry links and technology markets.

With a PhD in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 1997 (International Doctorate in Economic Analysis), before coming to the CSIC, she worked abroad for almost ten years. Between 1997 and 2000, in London and Brussels in a competition consultancy (Lexecon Ltd); and between 2000 and 2006 at the OECD in the Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry.

She frequently participates in expert groups on intellectual property rights and innovation at national and European level, and collaborates with international organisations such as the OECD and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) on assessments of national innovation and intellectual property systems (Spain, Chile, Malaysia, Portugal, Serbia, etc.).

Since 2015 she is a member of the Board of the academic association EPIP (European Policy for Intellectual Property), of which she was president in 2021/22, and since 2018 she belongs to the Comité d'Orientation Scientifique of the OST-Hcéres (Observatoire des Sciences et des Techniques) in France.

She has been principal investigator of several research projects at regional, national and international level, and since September 2022 she coordinates the project DOC-TRACK - STEM Doctoral Graduates and Inventive Activities in Four European Countries, competitively funded by the Academic Research Programme of the European Patent Office (EPO-ARP), in collaboration with Bordeaux School of Economics, University of Kassel and University of Utrecht.
